Stand Tall Theatre is run by husband and wife team, Stevie and Carley Williams, and is an applied theatre company based in Fareham that provide contemporary performance and workshops for varying ages and community groups. Applied theatre, in our terms, encompasses theatre that tackles areas of social and cultural policy, often drawing upon real experience as stimulus. At Stand Tall Theatre we focus on the area of mental health and put the mental well-being of others at the forefront of our projects; here we promote positive well-being and open the conversation of what mental health means as a whole and as an individual. Stand Tall Theatre look at the stigmatisation around mental health disorders using performance, creative workshops and digital forms, working largely in Hampshire and surrounding areas.
Education is an important part of our work, with projects and education packages designed specifically for schools; the Stand Tall team collaborate to allow mental health concerns to become a talking point for primary and secondary schools.
Lastly, Stand Tall provide commissioned work for companies and charities, which often involves working with vulnerable or neurodiverse communities.
